The Stable Door Restaurant and Bed & breakfast is located in the idyllic, picturesque village of Tacolneston, Norfolk.
Both the restaurant and the luxury, en suite accommodation are situated in a converted 16th century barn, that adjoins the historic village pub; 'The Pelican Inn'. This former traditional coaching inn, will add a distinct but complementary character to your visit. Here, there is an excellent selection of good home cooked food that can be enjoyed by an open fire in the winter months, or a delightful garden in the spring and summer.
The Pelican Inn is renowned for its large variety of wines, beers, malts and traditional real ales, which are served straight from the cask. It offers a warm, friendly and personal welcome and can promise an enjoyable stay.
The village of Tacolneston is situated 8 miles south of Norwich on the B1113 road from Norwich to Attleborough. The historic town of Wymondham is only 3 miles away, one of the sites which is a must to see is the old ruins of Wymondham Abbey.
Opposite the Pelican Inn is the Tacolneston Hall, previously owned by Captain Tim Birkin, who was a pioneer driver for the Bently Racing Team in the 1920's to 1930's.
Norwich itself is a mixture between the old and the new. The city is surrounded by the ancient city walls which are totally preserved. The city atmosphere is lively, friendly and very cosmopolitan.
